PRN Childcare Worker

Qualifications:

The PRN Child Care Worker must be at least 21 years of age with a valid Driver’s License. Must have at least a High School Diploma or GED and two years of direct service experience with children and families or an Associate’s degree or higher in behavioral or social science field.

The Child Care Worker will be responsible to:

  • Monitor children and adolescents in daily routine and activities
  • Transport children and adolescents to school and varying appointments
  • Manage behavioral issues
  • Document in charts, incident reports, cottage log, medication management, etc.
  • Ensure cleanliness of cottage
  • Attend required trainings

The PRN Child Care Worker is needed to work non-traditional hours to include 12-hour shifts, weekends, and be readily available to provide shift coverage in the event of staff call-outs or vacations

Therapist (Bainbridge)

Qualifications:

The Vashti Center, Inc. is seeking a full time Therapist for its Clinic and Community Services Department.  This position requires a Master’s degree in a Social Service Field and must be licensed eligible in the state of Georgia, as a LMFT, LPC, or LCSW. Clinical supervision will be provided to meet licensure requirements if needed.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides individual and family therapy as directed by consumer’s assessment and treatment plan
  • Provides therapy based on evidence-based theory and approaches to best meet the needs of presenting clients
  • Ensures quality documentation will be submitted in a timely manner for the purpose of meeting service and state guidelines and billing
  • Develops awareness of service guidelines standards applicable to all providers of services for child/adolescent community mental health and addictive diseases.
  • Complies with fiscal intermediary service timetables.
  • Participates in staffing of caseload as requested which may include initiating and overseeing PRTF (Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility) or psychiatric hospitalization.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of family systems and their impact on mental health within the family
  • Skill in applying varies interventions with individuals/families in crisis
  • Skill in working with variety of cultures
  • Skill in working independently and implementing time management strategies
  • Ability to demonstrate positive team interactions with other clinic staff
  • Awareness of personal strengths and appropriate timing for referrals.

Chaplain

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience working with children and families in a religious setting, Masters preferred.  Must have completed at least one unit of clinical pastoral training or receive within one year of employment.  Must be an ordained minister or on track towards completion of ordination.  Preference is given to United Methodists.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: 

The Chaplain will develop and carry out a schedule of worship experiences and lead a variety of spiritual enrichment programs by developing, planning and carrying out a process of spiritual and moral training in the Christian tradition for each child.  The Chaplain will organize and supervise mentor and volunteer programs, assuring compliance with regulatory expectations. The Chaplain will also serve as a community ambassador for Vashti, as well as meet all the requirements of employment with the agency.

SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide pastoral counseling and care for youth through establishing relationships and being present on campus
  2. Develop a holistic personal development/growth plan for each consumer within 7 days of entry into the RBWO program and update quarterly on an on-going basis until consumer is discharged.
  3. Make arrangements for youth to attend worship services in the local community by developing relationships with various denominations.
  4. Work cooperatively with pastors of local churches to include our youth in their programs and special activities to include vacation bible school, youth meetings, or outings.
  5. Organize and oversee a comprehensive mentoring program to include training to mentors and consumers.
  6. Lead a weekly bible study on campus for each cottage.
  7. Supervise and expand the church-related volunteer program, with CQI Director if maintenance related.

Community Support Worker (Thomasville)

QUALIFICATIONS:

 We prefer a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a social service or helping field. A High School Diploma or GED is required.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Community Support Worker is responsible for acting as the case manager for each consumer on the caseload.  CSW will provide face-to-face and collateral contacts as specified on the individual’s treatment plan.

SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Planning in a proactive manner to assist the child/youth and family in managing or preventing crisis situations.
  2. Will help youth identify strengths, which may aid him/her in achieving resilience, as well as barriers that impede the development of skills necessary for age-appropriate functioning in school, with peers, and with family.
  3. Will provide support to facilitate enhanced natural and age appropriate supports, i.e., will assist with connecting families with community resources such as other organizations, churches, extended family and other appropriate resources.
  4. Assistance in the development of interpersonal, community coping and functional skills, including adaptation to home, school and healthy social environments.
  5. Will assist the consumer in the acquisition of skills for the child/youth to self-recognize emotional triggers and to self-manage behaviors related to the consumers identified emotional disturbance.
  6. Will identify with the consumer and family risk indicators related to substance related disorder, relapse, and strategies to prevent relapse.
  7. Will work diligently to assist the youth from being hospilitalized or admitted into a residential facility including legal placements.
  8. Working with children and families to identify and assess strengths and needs.
  9. Maintaining oversight of services provided within and outside the agency.
  10. Ensure that all community-based programming complies with all applicable regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
  11. Cooperate in Continuous Quality Improvement program.

Clubhouse Paraprofessional

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must at least be twenty-one (21) years of age, have a valid Georgia driver’s license, pass fingerprinting background check, must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. At least two years of previous experience working with children and mental health is preferred.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Paraprofessional assures that the basic needs of the consumers in the Clubhouse are met and provides necessary supervision and individual attention. The Paraprofessional serves as role model, and as such communicates and interprets the basic philosophy, policies, rules, programs, and procedures of the program of care. Other duties of the Paraprofessional include but are not limited to maintaining Clubhouse cleanliness, participation in recreational activities, and transportation of consumers in care. The Paraprofessional must always stay in a 1 to 10 ratio (one Paraprofessional to every ten Consumers).

Contract Maintenance Staff

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of one year experience in maintenance.

Demonstrated abilities in carpentry, painting, appliance installation and repair, auto maintenance and repair, plumbing, electrical, heating and air conditioning system.  Lock & Key service and repair.  Operation of lawn equipment.  First Aid/CPR certification.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

This employee is responsible for carrying out assigned tasks, which involve the maintenance of buildings, ground and equipment at the Vashti Center.

SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Works with other members of the maintenance staff in servicing electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning equipment, and in maintenance tasks involving all agency buildings and grounds.
  2. Maintains Swimming pool
  3. Performs carpentry work.
  4. Performs painting task as assigned.
  5. Performs general cleaning as necessary and as assigned.
  6. Installs new equipment, appliances, and appliance and/or automotive parts.
  7. Maintains lawn and grounds care including seeding, mowing, weeding, trimming, general clean-up, etc.
  8. Communicates to supervisor the needs of the department.
  9. Lock & Key service and repair.
  10. Keeps required records
