GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Community Outreach Coordinator’s responsibilities include organizing community trainings, collecting and tracking survey data from trainings, representing our organization at community events, organizing outreach events and social media campaigns during child advocacy and prevention months, identifying groups/youth serving organizations and setting up appointments to speak about our professional development and mental health programs.

REQUIREMENTS

– Must have a Master of Divinity degree or equivalent (i.e. M.A.T.S., Th. M) from an accredited seminary or theological school
– Minimum 2 years’ experience working with a youth serving organization
– Denominational or faith community endorsement is strongly preferred (preference given to United Methodists)
– A passion and vision for youth to grow in their faith and spiritual life
– Strong interpersonal skills; exceptional listener and communicator
– A self-starter who can manage the creation, planning, and implementation of youth spiritual enrichment activities
– A team player who is supportive of all programs of the Vashti Center
– Comfortable identifying and executing strategies for building and enhancing the Vashti Center’s reputation and presence in the community

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Create and lead weekly Bible Studies that support the diverse spiritual needs of our residential youth
– Foster opportunities for dialogue and understanding regarding spiritual care needs
– Ability to respect and be sensitive to diverse populations
– Provide pastoral care are guidance to youth with behavioral and emotional needs
– Coordinate with local churches to support participation in their faith communities
– Develop and maintain a comprehensive mentoring program
– Create and manage a monthly calendar for enrichment activities for our residential youth
– Speak at local churches, faith communities, and community organizations about The Vashti Center’s mission and for public relation purposes
– Participate in fundraising efforts in collaboration with Development Director and Director of Outreach
– Effectively involve volunteers on campus and in support of our fundraisers and special events

Associate Director

Responsibilities for Associate Director

Strategic Planning:

  • Proactively identify internal opportunities and challenges and work with the ED to address them
  • Manage key projects and special initiatives that relate to organizational growth

Operational:

  • Provide oversight of internal operations, including Human Resources, Finance, Compliance, IT and Facilities Management.
  • HR priorities include development and implementation of effective recruiting, hiring, compensation, benefits, training and professional development policies; sustaining an internal culture that promotes initiative, appropriate risk taking, learning, cooperation, equity, and mutual respect
  • Financial priorities include budgeting, reporting, audits and compliance, especially around government grants and accounting related to restricted funds
  • Facilities priorities include assisting in the development and implementation of a long-term campus plan for the organization
  • IT priorities include evaluating Vashti’s third-party helpdesk vendor, and the cybersecurity measures
  • Provide high-level input to inform decisions the organization makes around both compliance and financial risks, such as contracts and insurance policies
  • Provide high-level input to inform staffing decisions related to growth, performance and accountability

Evaluation:

  • Assist in improving and monitoring the organization’s performance reporting systems (including program data); ensure successful adoption of an organizational dashboard database

Programmatic:

  • Lead staff in long-term program planning, establishing outcomes and clear project plans
  • Work with the senior leadership team to develop and evaluate program strategies and goals
  • Assist in developing strategies to engage children, families, and organizations in SWGA in the programs and services offered by Vashti

Supervision and Staff Management:

  • Provide coaching and training to push staff members to reach long-term professional goals
  • Actively participate in management team meetings

Experience and Qualifications:

  • At least three years of senior management experience in a dynamic, responsive environment; preferably in a non-profit organization
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required, Master’s degree strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of strategic financial management, business strategy, strategic planning
  • Experience creating and managing budgets
  • Ability to manage complex projects and departments
  • Highly skilled at staff management, coaching, and development
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams to develop and implement systems and processes to increase effectiveness and efficiency

Community Outreach Coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS:

We are looking for a hard-working Community Outreach Coordinator to join our organization.
– Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, social services, or related field.
– 2 to 3 years’ experience in the field preferred, but not required.
– Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
– Strong organizational and administrative skills.
– Good reporting, technical, and statistical skills.
– Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.

SERVICE RESPONSIBILIES:

1. Coordinating our professional learning courses and identifying new facilitators to add to our professional development program.
2. Assisting with public relations, such as developing strategic relationships, attending community events, and conducting informational presentations at schools, clubs, and civic groups.
3. Assisting with developing brochures, presentations, and other marketing materials for our professional development and mental health programs.
4. Assisting our contracted marketing team with developing and maintaining the organization’s social media calendar.
5. Organizing outreach events, including child advocacy and prevention month activities, promoting the services of the organization and fundraising efforts.
6. Collecting and tracking survey data and presenting the conclusions to supervisor.
7. Advertising for and recruiting organizations, providing them with training, tracking their evaluations, and keeping records of their attendance.

Direct Care Worker - Thomasville Location
QUALIFICATIONS:

At least twenty-one (21) years of age, valid Georgia driver’s license, able to pass fingerprinting background check, high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of previous experience working with children.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Child Care Worker (CCW) assures that the basic needs of the consumers in care are met and provides necessary supervision and individual attention. The CCW serves as a role model, and as such communicates and interprets the basic philosophy, policies, rules, programs and procedures of the program of care. Other duties of the CCW include but are not limited to maintaining cottage cleanliness, participation in recreational activities and transportation of consumers in care.

SERVICE RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Assists other staff in all aspects of day to day care
  • Implements structure and rules through supervision and guidance of consumers
  • Participates in the development and implementation of the treatment plan by understanding the consumer’s diagnosis
  • Administers and records medications to consumers in accordance with agency policies and procedures
  • Assists new consumers in becoming familiar with the RBWO program
  • Provides transportation of consumers as directed by supervisor
  • Assists staff in developing solutions to individual or cottage wide problems
  • Maintains cottage cleanliness and structure as outlined in the cottage inspection form
  • Participates in physical restraints of consumers when necessary
  • Works in a team relationship with supervisors and other CCWs
  • Participates in consumer recreational activities on and off the cottage
  • Completes necessary documentation thoroughly and as directed by supervisor
  • Reinforces the positive behaviors of consumers in care
  • Remains calm and therapeutic in tense situations

Therapist
QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree in social services field. Must be Licensed Eligible. Prefer Licensed or Associate Licensed in the State of Georgia as a LMFT, LPC, or LCSW.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Development and conceptualization of child/adolescent needs based on presenting circumstances, family history, cultural considerations, and stated desires of child/adolescent and family. Provide therapy based on evidence-based theory and approaches to best meet the needs of presenting clients. Quality documentation submitted in a timely manner for the purpose of meeting service and State guidelines, and billing.

SERVICE RESPONSIBILITES:

1. Provide individual or family therapy as directed by consumer’s assessment and treatment plan.

2. Develop awareness of service guideline standards applicable to all providers of services for child/adolescent community mental health and addictive diseases.

3. To comply with fiscal intermediary service timetables:

a. Progress notes shall be completed and placed into the consumers chart within 7 days of service delivery.

b. An expectation amount will set and reviewed by the supervisor. If expectations are not meet progressive discipline will occur up to and including termination.

c. Billing for care is an essential part of the position

4. To comply with all Continuous Quality Improvement requests in a timely and complete manner.

5. To participate in staffing of caseload consumers as requested which may include initiating and overseeing PRTF (Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility) or psychiatric hospitalization.

6. To provide reports and notes to fiscal intermediaries of such quality that they are not disallowed and reimbursement secured.

7. To participate in Clinical Supervision as required by the Department of Behavioral Health Guidelines (if Applicable).

Paraprofessional

Responsibilities for Paraprofessional

The Paraprofessional assures that the basic needs of the consumers in the Clubhouse are met and provides necessary supervision and individual attention. The Paraprofessional serves as role model, and as such communicates and interprets the basic philosophy, policies, rules, programs, and procedures of the program of care. Other duties of the Paraprofessional include but are not limited to maintaining Clubhouse cleanliness, participation in recreational activities, and transportation of consumers in care. The Paraprofessional must always stay in a 1 to 10 ratio (one Paraprofessional to every ten Consumers).

Community Support Worker

Responsibilities for Community Support Worker

The Community Support Worker is responsible for acting as the case manager for each consumer on the caseload. The CSW will provide face-to-face and collateral contacts as specified on the individual’s treatment plan. As well as, assist youth to identify their strengths, which may aid him/her in achieving resilience, as well as barriers that impede the development of skills necessary for age-appropriate functioning in school, with peers, and with family.
