We’re happy to announce our organization was recognized by the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) with the Systems of Care (SOC) Award—a testament to our unwavering commitment to building strong, collaborative networks of support for children, families, and communities across our state.

What the Award Represents

The Systems of Care framework is about more than delivering services—it’s about connecting people, programs, and communities so that every child and family has the resources they need to heal, grow, and thrive. This award honors organizations that go above and beyond to foster partnerships, embrace trauma-informed practices, and create lasting impact through coordinated care.

At Vashti, our mission has always been rooted in a holistic approach. From our Residential Foster Care Program (Room, Board & Watchful Oversight) to our community-based behavioral health services, we work hand-in-hand with schools, local agencies, healthcare providers, faith communities, and fellow nonprofits to ensure that no child falls through the cracks.

Our Collaborative Impact

Over the past year, Vashti has:

  • Served more than 1,500 children, families, and youth-serving professionals across Georgia.
  • Delivered trauma-informed behavioral health services that address the unique needs of each individual we serve.
  • Expanded partnerships with DFCS, DJJ, local school systems, and community coalitions to align resources and create pathways to stability and success.
  • Integrated faith-based support through our chaplaincy program, connecting youth to spiritual care and community encouragement.

This recognition from DBHDD affirms that our collaborative, relationship-centered approach is not only changing lives—it’s setting a standard for how behavioral health systems can work together for greater impact.

A Team Effort

Receiving the Systems of Care Award is truly a reflection of the dedication of our entire Vashti team, the strength of our partners, and the resilience of the children and families we serve. Every staff member, volunteer, donor, and community supporter plays a role in making this recognition possible.

We are grateful to DBHDD for this honor, and we see it as encouragement to continue building a connected, compassionate network of care in Southwest Georgia and beyond.

Looking Ahead

As we celebrate this achievement, we remain focused on the future—expanding our capacity, deepening partnerships, and innovating our programs to meet the evolving needs of our community. Together, we can ensure that every child and family has access to the healing, hope, and opportunity they deserve.
