Sometimes the hardest battles are the ones we don’t see.
We notice the cast on a broken arm, the scar from a surgery, or the tears after a loss — but what about the wounds we can’t see? The quiet struggles, the late-night tears, the moments when getting out of bed feels impossible?
According to the National Institute of Mental Health, more than 23% of adults in the U.S. faced mental health challenges in 2022. Comparatively, suicide consistently ranks second as the cause of death for young people (ages 15-24), second only to unintentional injury, as cited by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
And in 2023, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention reported that more than 14 out of every 100,000 lives were lost to suicide. Behind every number is a name, a person, a father, a daughter, or friend. Each one leaves behind an empty space — a silence that reminds us how deeply connection matters.
Additionally, the world, the World Health Organization estimates that one in seven people lives with a mental disorder. Anxiety. Depression. Loneliness. These are the quiet companions of millions — yet so often, they go unnoticed.
That’s why we have created the You Matter campaign.
Because sometimes hope begins with two simple words: You Matter.
This campaign isn’t just about T-shirts or yard signs — it’s about starting conversations that might save a life. It’s about reminding someone, maybe someone you don’t even know, that they are seen, valued, and not alone.
Here’s how you can be part of the movement:
1. Wear Hope. Share Hope.
When you give $100, you’ll receive an exclusive You Matter T-shirt — a small but powerful way to wear compassion out loud.
- Visit govashti.org/you-matter
- Make your $100 donation
- Wear your shirt proudly
- Share a photo on social media with #YouMatter and #Vashti
Every photo, every post, every conversation — it all adds up to a wave of hope that reaches farther than we can imagine.

2. Display Hope Where You Liveor Work
When you become a monthly supporter, you’ll receive a You Matter yard sign to display in your yard or community. It’s more than decoration — it’s a beacon. A reminder of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, and a message to every passerby that they are not invisible.
- Display your You Matter sign
- Share your story and inspire others

Your support does more than raise awareness. It helps us expand life-changing behavioral health programs that serve children and families across our community — including:
- Community Counseling
- Residential Foster Care
- Afterschool Therapy
- Training & Outreach
- Hospitality Services
These programs build resilience. They restore hope. They save lives.
When you wear your You Matter shirt or place your sign in your yard, you become part of that story — a story of connection, compassion, and change. You remind someone that they are seen, loved, and worth fighting for. Together, we can make You Matter more than a message.
We can make it a movement — one that tells every person, everywhere:
You Matter.
